As long as you meet the accessibility criteria, you don’t need to formally apply for NDIS funding – but you still need to connect with someone from the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to start the process. The NDIA is the government agency appointed to implement the NDIS.
If you already receive disability supports, an NDIS representative will get in touch when it’s time for you to transition to the new system. If you’re not currently receiving disability services and are entering the NDIS as a new participant, you’ll need to contact the NDIS yourself to start the ball rolling.
