Community support centre in Agnes Water
UnitingCare’s Discovery Coast Community Support Program is a unique service that truly takes the time to understand what the Agnes Water community needs and how we can best reach those who are at risk of falling through the gaps.
After consulting with the community, each year we decide on 15 activities – five projects, five resources and five events – that aim to be of most benefit to vulnerable members of our community. These activities can change from year to year, depending on the needs of the area.

How does Discovery Coast Community Support Program help?
The Agnes Water Neighbourhood Centre assist's the community by:
- Linking community members with internal and external providers to meet their personal needs.
- Supports the community in creating social connections and inclusion through events, programs and initiatives.
- Empowers, supports and integrates community action by working alongside community groups, organisations and people to meet their goals.
From the centre, we also run the Discovery Coast Emergency Relief Service, allowing us to assist people doing it tough with emergency relief, such as fuel vouchers, food hampers, and other items on a case-by-case basis.

Who does Discovery Coast Community Support Program help?
We support any community members that may require navigation or information on services available in-house, within the region, on-line or at our neighbouring big towns; Gladstone and Bundaberg.
Any community organisations, groups and individuals that would like to be supported in regard to community-led action in a large range of areas.
Our Emergency Relief program supports any individuals or families in need of food or fuel assistance.
